Meet one camel farmer whose innovative techniques helped lift his family and neighboring farmers out of poverty, and step inside the rich culture of a Maasai community in Tanzania as they celebrate how Heifer camels have helped them achieve a sustainable future.
This project will assist 5,570 families through three separate projects
in Honduras.
In addition to providing animals and extensive training on ecological
farming, Heifer will
also work with community organizations to increase their ability to
develop the local
economy and indigenous leaders.
The Sustainable Community Development project will work to organize 120
families into six
women's self-help groups. Each family will be provided with two goats,
vegetable and fodder
seedlings as well as training in Heifer's 12 Cornerstones and animal
care.
